Stakeholder events

Central to the stakeholder engagement process was the hosting of two formal stakeholder workshops. The workshops provided an ideal forum for providing project information to the stakeholder community, for gathering inputs and requirements from stakeholders and for ensuring that these are addressed in the design of the scheme.

1st stakeholder workshop

The first stakeholder workshop was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 2 on 26th April 2017. The workshop coincided with the official launch of the project. The purpose of the project was to introduce the project, generate interest among stakeholders and understand their initial requirements of a renewable gas certification scheme. Attendees included policy makers, representatives of state agencies, acadamics and all parties involved in the production, supply and use of biogas.

2nd stakeholder workshop

The second stakeholder workshop was held on 1st February 2018 at the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport hotel in Dublin. The workshop included a series of presentations from stakeholders. Also, key elements of the certification scheme draft design, namely the greenhouse calculation methodology, the sustainability criteria and the registry, were presented and discussed with the attendees. The presentations from the workshop are available here.
